Diamond Cross Ranch Wedding

We had been eagerly anticipating this day from the moment Gather Events Company, our favorite wedding design and planning team in Wyoming (or anywhere really), first reached out to us about our availability for this wedding. Although we shoot multiple events a year in Jackson Hole, this would be our first wedding at the famed Diamond Cross Ranch. Diamond Cross is one of few remaining historic ranches in Teton County, and it’s considered ‘Jackson Hole’s most iconic,’ for good reason too—the view is jaw dropping. Sprawling acres lead the eye to an unobstructed view of Mount Moran, one of many mountains in the Teton range, while a herd of majestic horses graze in the foreground.

The serenity here is unrivaled. There aren’t countless tourist driving by, and the setting is far from other ranches or accommodations. When we arrived, as well as Paige and Sam’s guests, we were blown away by the scene. Paige and Sam could not have chosen a more astonishing setting for the celebration of their love.

At the risk of sounding cliche, Paige and Sam are the kindest, most down to earth pair. Working with them was a dream. From the moment they saw one another at their Schwabacher Landing first look, it became so evident that their love and admiration for one another will go the distance. For so many parts of the day, Sam couldn’t hold back his tears; it was cool to see him let down all walls and just be himself. And each time Paige grabbed Sam’s hand or looked at him softly, it was plain to see how she was cherishing everything. Also, witnessing their friends and family surround them with so much energy and celebration was special. We’ve never been to a wedding that was more lively.

Gather Events Company has also written an amazing summary of this stunning wedding. If you’re interested in their article, you can read it here next.

First Look at Schwabacher Landing

Paige and Sam elected to have a First look at Schwabacher Landing. It was around 1pm, so we were initially concerned about harsh lighting. However, it worked out perfectly—the bright sunshine made these moments shimmer, and the skyline of the mountains was defined and detailed, rather than silhouetted from a setting sun behind them.

Outdoor Ceremony at Diamond Cross Ranch

After the First Look, we drove to the ranch where we continued with family and bridal party portraits before the guests arrived for the ceremony.

Paige and Sam decided on a minimally decorated setting to really let the surrounding nature be their aesthetic. Dandelion Floral helped them achieve this with a simple, yet stunning arrangement of white flowers and greenery.

The parasols, provided by Gather Events Co, became more than just shade from the midday sun, guests were also loving them for photo props for their mountain selfies.

One of Diamond Cross Ranch’s wow factors is a horse release during the ceremonial “first kiss.” Hearing the rumbling of stampeding huffs crescendo like thunder at the pronouncement of marriage, and then watching the herd pass behind at the very same moment of Paige and Sam kiss was an emotional experience for everyone. It felt like a movie.

Tented Reception with Grand Teton View

The tented reception was set-up adjacent to the ceremony on the other side of a grassy meadow. A formal dinner with a view of the Tetons is something you won’t find elsewhere. That’s one of the reasons why hosting your event at the Diamond Cross is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Guests arrived to the Aurora tent, smelling the delicious meal being prepared by Provisions, and located their name on a unique pegboard style seating chart.

Sunset Pictures with Horses

After dinner and toasts, we whisked Paige and Sam away from the reception for some quiet sunset moments with the horses. This is more than just a photo opportunity. It’s a chance to come face-to-face with the horses and have an experience you’ll never forget. In fact, Paige told us “This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.” How incredible is it to be able to something like this on your wedding day?! They’ll always hold on to these moments.

Live Music and a Rockin’ Party

We’ve arrived at our favorite part of the whole day—the party! Paige and Sam brought in Emmy Award winner Patrick & LVB all the way from Las Vegas; the band currently holds a weekly residency as Headliners at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino located at the heart of the strip. Patrick “has helped fill Arenas across the US while playing along side Bon Jovi, One Republic, the Chainsmokers, Megan Trainor, Matchbox 20, Marshmallow” and many more. So to say that this was the best “wedding band” ever is still an understatement. The colorful energy under this tent was electric. We’ve never seen a group come more ready to party and have the best night of their lives. We’re still reeling from the excitement.
